In March 2023 Mottel traveled to
Texas teach a 2 day seminar held by 'Disciple Daily'. Friday evening brought a
"Messiah in the Passover' demonstration, and the 4 hour long seminars on
Saturday had basic training in how to
knowledgably share Messiah. Photo at lower left shows the unique setting, a
metal 'Baker Building' open to the elements.
In early April we conducted a
"Messiah in the Passover" Seder, using a church facility in central New Jersey.
Unique was that
we had a small group of Brazilian Christians attend, so their bi-lingual Pastor
did simultaneous translation into Portuguese.

April 2023: ZOOM BIBLE SEMINAR
FOR CHINESE SPEAKERS, 50 HOUSEHOLDS !! |
The photo above was taken at a Hebrew Baby naming and Dedication I officiated for a believing Jewish family. The tradition in the Jewish community is that children are given two names: a secular one for use in the public community, and a Hebrew name to be used within the Jewish community. An example of this is the Apostle Paul, who, contrary to what you may hear, did NOT change his name when he became a believer, but always had both names. This family had two children in rapid succession, and so we did a double ceremony, with nonbelieving members of their extended Jewish family in attendance and participating. It is difficult to put in words the sort of positive impression this has on those relatives. The falsehood that circulates in the mainstream Jewish community is that Jewish believers came to faith in Jesus to escape Jewish identity, which is offensive and false, so our sharing Messiah during this Jewish tradition is a powerful statement of our faith. |

Discipleship Program in New York at
Shoshanah Campus Summer 2023
- Each Summer Mottel teaches for
three or more weeks at the Discipleship Program for Jewish & Gentile
believers run by Ariel Ministries at their Shoshanah Conference
Center in upstate NY. This is a fully collaborative endeavor and
benefits the Jewish believers we are discipling in our ministry.
When the program began over 30 years ago it was only open to Jewish believers,
now it's open to all. It was vital to Mottel & Deborah's early spiritual growth and so it is a privilege
for Mottel to teach there and to have believers we work with attending.
- Many of the believers there have come to faith in recent years. The program entails over 5 hours of classes per day at the Bible College level, so the students tend to be serious and MOST teach Bible themselves in their home areas. In 2023 the program averaged about 35 adult students each week, with about 140 different students from across the USA plus 10 nations over the full 8 weeks of the teaching schedule. - Importantly, over the years many who were initially discipled here went on to full time Jewish outreach ministry. Mottel usually teaches 2 courses per day, and has counseling, leadership and occasional music responsibilities. |

What we're NOT showing you . . .
are the faces of some of the Jewish
people who have come to faith or a being discipled. Privacy & security are
concerns,
though we have written of them in our Prayer Letters and emails.
