Passover Seder
Outreaches 2014 -
The Passover Seder is a ritual which
our Jewish people have continually observed for over 3,000 years. Passover
is first found in the book of Exodus and celebrates our release from
physical bondage in Egypt. As Jews, Jesus and His disciples celebrated the Passover, with the "Last Supper " being the best known example.

Messianic Bible Discipleship program in New York at Camp Shoshanah Summer 2014
Each Summer Mottel teaches for
three weeks at the Camp Shoshanah Discipleship Program for new Jewish &
Gentile believers arranged by Ariel Ministries.
Twenty-five years ago this
program was vital to Mottel's early spiritual growth and so it is a privilege
for him to
teach there and to have believers we work
with attending.
Many of the
Jewish believers there have come to faith in recent years. The program
entails 5 hours of classes per day at the Bible College level,
so the
students tend
to be serious.
An encouraging trend the past few years is the increased presence of a younger
group of new believers.
The Camp averages about 70 to 80 adult students,
and over
the years many who
were initially discipled here went on to full time Jewish outreach
ministry.
Mottel usually teaches 2 courses per day,
and has counseling and worship leading responsibilities. It's located in the mountains of northern
New York State.

at the 3 week Discipleship Program.
The conference center is only an hour south of Canada, so many believers from there attend. |
This year 10 believers in Jesus from Israel attended, the most ever. It was a privilege for Mottel to have the adults in his class. One of these young people is currently in the Israeli Army and scheduled his "leave" to be able to attend, the younger ones will serve at age 18. |
After class there were always questions. |
The 3 Instructors: Mottel (at left) with Dr. Barry Leventhal (center) and Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum (right). Barry & Arnold were Mottel's teachers in the early 1980's so it's a privilege to co-teach with them now. Barry was a Professor at Dallas Seminary in the 1980's and is now Academic Dean at Southern Evangelical Seminary. Arnold has taught for Tyndale Theological Seminary and is an internationally known Bible Scholar & Author. |

Australia, and Beth helps coordinate ministry activities in New
Zealand. Each summer since 1973 Ariel Ministries has conducted a 3 week intensive Messianic Bible Institute Discipleship Program, taught by director Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum and other skilled Bible Teachers. Over the years many Jewish believers & leaders in the Messianic Movement have taught here including Dr. Louis Goldberg, Dr. Michael Rydelnik, Steven Ger, Sam Nadler, Dr. Mitch Glaser, Dr. Barry Leventhal, Robert Morris, Mottel Baleston, Dr. Greg Hagg, J. Isaac Gabizon, Barney Kasdan, Gary Derechinsky, Louis Lapides, Jeff Gutterman, Michael Gabizon and several others. Many students who were initially discipled here went on to full or part-time time ministry. The daily schedule includes 3 hours of classes in the morning, 2 hours in the evening, with the afternoon free for recreation. The entire set of courses offered is fully covered during a cycle of five summers. A student may begin at any time. A certificate is given to those completing the 5 year cycle with a minimum 2 weeks each summer. The following courses are offered during each 5 year class cycle:

In Leviticus 23:39-43 the Feast of Tabernacles is
described. It celebrates the faithfulness of God as he sustained the Jewish
people for 40 years of living in
flimsy
"Booths/Tabernacles" in the desert during the Exodus wanderings. The Jewish
community celebrates this as commanded by scripture. When Mottel teaches about
this Holy Day
we stress it's ultimate fulfillment in the Messianic Kingdom, the reign of
Messiah Jesus, as He "Tabernacles" with His people. The photo is from

MESSIAH IN THE FALL HOLY DAYS OF ISRAEL - 2 Day Bible Conference
Over many years we've cooperated with Ariel Ministries, an evangelical agency with their emphasis in outreach & discipleship of Jewish believers in Jesus. They sponsored and had me teach a 2 day conference in Texas on the theme of "Messiah in the Jewish High Holy Days", a study of how every one of the Holy Days given by God to Israel in Leviticus 23 finds ultimate fulfillment in the person and ministry of Messiah Jesus. We had a full house at their San Antonio headquarters, about 55, with several traveling from nearby states to be there. |

HANUKKAH OUTREACH -
December 2014
In John 10:21-22 Messiah
Jesus is involved in the observance of Hanukkah (Feast of Dedication), as He
also observed all the Jewish Holy Days. Hanukkah commemorates the victory of
the Macabees over
pagan forces who wanted to destroy the Bible and the Jewish people. Think
about it:
No Jewish people = No Jesus /
No Jesus = No Christmas. Without Hanukkah there wouldn't be Christmas!

April 2015 - VIDEO OUTREACH PROJECT - 9 Million Views!! (as of 4/2016)
In April a new ministry outreach project was launched, as
we collaborated with two similar ministries: Chosen People
Ministries in New York and OneforIsrael.org from Israel. The video
project was promoted globally, and filmed by a believer with
professional credentials. The result has exceeded their expectations
and mine, big time ! When you see my new testimony video I believe
you'll agree that this is a significant new tool to help reach
Jewish people. Again, it's meant to reach Jewish people who are not
yet believers, it's very short and contemporary, and other Jewish
believers were also filmed for separate videos. The film team choose
to release my video first, to be followed by another every week. Just seven weeks after the video launch it had over a Quarter Millions views YouTube & Facebook combined. Now, because of people "sharing" it, on the 'One for Israel' Facebook the views for this video stand at over 7 million as of December 2015 !! To find it just type: Mottel Baleston into the Facebook
or YouTube search bar.
The comments/debate on those FB pages are an education onto itself,
with some Jewish people from the mainstream condemning the video and
myself, Jewish & Gentile believers refuting those comments and
witnessing, with many ill-informed comments as well. While just 5
minutes long, the video presents a strong challenge and we've
already seen it work! The main follow-up is being handled by the 2
larger ministries I collaborated with. As people have 'Googled' our
name and sought us out, over several months we received many e-mails
from Jewish people asking for literature, with two
others even charging I'm pretending about being Jewish!
Rabbi M. is open to dialogue. This is clearly just the
beginning. If your congregation would like to show the video in a
service, or use it some other way, it can be downloaded by 3rd party
software and saved to disk. Just go to YouTube and enter in Search:

a Methodist Pastor, a Jewish believer who teaches a Men's Bible study, a young
Jewish couple seeking God's will re full-time ministry.

Teaching at the Ariel School of Jewish
Ministry
Mottel spent two weeks in October teaching a module at
the new Ariel School of Jewish Ministry in New York, where there are students
who are considering a
career in
Jewish ministry. This is an evangelical one year Bible school, similar to Word
of Life, except on a much smaller scale. I am there on a collaborative basis.
The summer
version of this school has seen over 30 students who came as young people
eventually go into full time Jewish outreach careers,
that is a truly
astonishing number.
